Douglas E. Koenig, JD

Mr. Koenig graduated from Dartmouth College and Thayer School of Engineering, and started his first career in 1977 as a metallurgical engineer, working with advanced materials and superalloys for Howmet Turbine Components Corporation in Whitehall, Michigan. Mr. Koenig then joined Digital Equipment Corporation of Maynard, Massachusetts. He completed certification as CIM Technologist and Microsoft MCSE. After almost ten years in application development, customer support, Unix-based projects, and data center operations, he left to work with a small custom software house, Computer Methods Corporation. In 1993, Mr. Koenig joined Ford Motor Company and served in assignments in Engineering Information Systems, Corporate Treasury and Banking, Accounting, and Finance Systems, including work in Sweden with Volvo Cars Corporation. Mr. Koenig’s previous business experience also includes sales and customer support, project management, international business, peer mediation, and computer hardware service and support.
Mr. Koenig received his JD from the Michigan State University College of Law, and now practices in North Carolina as an attorney and as a mediator, with clients in all areas of the general business life cycle, personal and business bankruptcy, and estate planning. Mr. Koenig is licensed in North Carolina and admitted to the North Carolina District and Superior Courts as well as the Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts in the Middle District of North Carolina. He is also a professional mediator, certified by the Dispute Resolution Commission for North Carolina Superior Court. In addition, Mr. Koenig volunteers with the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation in several areas including NC LEAP, Legal Education, and Wills for Heroes.
