Mimi M. Kim, PhD
Dr. Kim received her BA in 1995 and MS in 1999 from Columbia University. She moved to Chapel Hill in 1999 and completed her doctorate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. She currently serves as a research investigator at the Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. Her primary research interests focus on clinical outcomes among adults with chronic illnesses, particularly mental illness, from a health services research context using both quantitative and qualitative methods. She is particularly interested in the influence of client and community preferences, client-provider relationships, and racial health disparities on clinical and service outcomes and the benefits of employing mixed method research designs to explore these interests.
